Your meal and Chef
Hamish is a chef based in Shropshire with over 15 years of kitchen experience, including working at Ludlow's The Green Cafe under chef Clive Davis.
He is inspired by the seasons, the food he grows and the landscape in which he lives, which makes him perfect for a visit to Black Sheep Barn and the Shropshire Hills. He uses fresh, foraged and fermented ingredients to create exceptional dishes.
Hamish will present a 3 course dining experience tailored to suit your tastes.
This will include drinks pairings to complement and highlight the very best seasonal ingredients the area has to offer.
He is a really talented and friendly guy and I'm confident you will have a wonderful experience.
Black Sheep Barn is a luxurious two bedroom converted barn situated near Ludlow in a remote, undiscovered pocket of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Explore miles of hill, wild heath and forest and then sit by the fire or perhaps on the terrace and enjoy fifty mile views to the Welsh border whilst you read your copy of It Started With The Starlings.
It’s a good place to get away from it all as it’s a half mile up a steep track from the nearest road.
We think it is a special place and we hope you will think so too.
And you will be presented with a special three course meal created just for you by Chef Hamish - more about that later.
You will have the whole of Black Sheep Barn to yourselves. This includes a small wooden decking area, garden, driveway and two parking spaces. The barn is on a small holding, where we live with sheep, chickens and vegetable garden.

Porch/Boot room
Enter through a porch and boot room, with underfloor heating to help dry your muddy boots and water proof jackets after a good exploration of the hill. There is also a washing machine and sink here together with space to dry some washing.
This is a good place to leave a dog when you go out, should you choose to.
Living area
Get your slippers on and descend the couple of steps down into the main living area. This consists of dining and lounge areas which open out onto a wooden decking where you might wish to sit and watch the sun set.
The dining area has a table and four chairs. The lounge has two sofas around a wood burning stove, with a TV and hi-fi. The hi-fi is old but has a mini jack lead for you to plug your phone in. There is a log burner, underfloor heating and electric radiators to heat the property.
There is a wall of shelves with board games and books for you to borrow. Also a record player and small selection of records.
Kitchen and shower room
Climb a few steps to the kitchen, shower room and bedrooms. The kitchen and bathroom have heated floors to warm your feet on a cold winter's morning.
The kitchen overlooks the living area, making keeping an eye on children easier. It has all pots, pans and utensils you should need. There is a kettle, toaster, electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave oven.
The shower room has a large, walk in shower with drencher and standard heads, toilet, basin and heated towel rail. A baby bath is available should this be useful to you.
Bedrooms
Black Sheep Barn has two bedrooms with three beds. One has a king size bed and the other has the option of either two single beds or these can be set up as a super kingsize bed.
Bedroom one has a timber clad wall, made from timber that once clad the back of the barn. There is a window looking up the hill, king size bed, chair, hairdryer, hanging space and drawers for your clothes.
Bedroom two also has a window looking up the hill. It has two single beds which can be pushed together to make a super king size bed. Please let us know in advance if this is the arrangement you would prefer. There are drawers and hanging space for your clothes.
Outside
The whole of Black Sheep Barn including a deck and garden is for your sole use. There is a private drive way and parking.
You will have direct access to miles of wild and beautiful land to explore.
